San Francisco (November 20, 2013)

Hotel Nikko San Francisco announced today that, to date this year, they have raised and donated more than $27,000 to support various charities. During October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Kanpai Lounge at Hotel Nikko raised over $9,000 for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. In addition, Hotel Nikko has donated over $18,000 in 2013 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Hotel Nikko continues to raise awareness for various causes, and is currently raising funds for the Philippine National Red Cross for Typhoon Relief.
Says Vice President and General Manager, Anna Marie Presutti: "I am so proud of the Hotel Nikko staff for their unwavering support and efforts to raise much-needed funds and awareness for causes that affect our community and beyond. I know that I can always count on the Hotel Nikko family to invest themselves and their time to help others in need."
During October performances at Feinstein's at the Nikko, located within Hotel Nikko, guests indulged in Kanpai Lounge's pink drink specials - Strawberry Fields or Coconut Raspberry Martini - before and after show time, as well as during the new Broadway Bingo at the Nikko on Wednesday nights. In order to bring further awareness to the cause Hotel Nikko had illuminated with pink lights outside, and was sprinkled with pink throughout the interior and staff uniforms throughout the month.
Since opening her doors in 1987, Hotel Nikko San Francisco has been consistently voted one of the Bay Area's "Best Places to Work" by their own employee and has demonstrated an enduring commitment to environmental stewardship and dedication to helping the local and global community. In addition to continually seeking ways to improve water and energy conservation as well as waste management within the hotel, hotel colleagues dedicate more than 1,000 hours to assisting the local community. Outreach programs include serving lunch at Glide Memorial Church and volunteering with The Salvation Army, Florence Crittenton Services and Adopt-A-Family. Taking a global approach to community service, Hotel Nikko generated over $100,000 in donations for Red Cross recovery efforts following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan in 2011. In 2010 and again in 2013, the Hotel Council of San Francisco recognized the hotel's commitment to volunteerism with the Community Spirit Hotel Award and the California Hotel & Lodging Association honored Hotel Nikko San Francisco with its Community Service Award. Most recently, Hotel Nikko was the recipient of the Professional Convention Management Association's 2012 Service Award.
